Name: Jacob "Jake" Safstrom
Age: 27

Jake is the youngest son of a wealthy Swedish family. His grandfather came over from Sweden to manage the American branch of of the family chocolate company. He joined the army shortly after a short, unsuccessful stint in college. He spent some time overseas and stateside until his last tour in Afghanistan. He was sent home and medically retired after his unit ran into a stretch of land mines. He was the only survivor, but he didn't come away unscathed. His left leg is a mess and he has a good deal of scarring on his left side from knee to shoulder from the shrapnel. During recovery, Jake became addicted to pain pills (Vicodin).

Jake is suffering from PTSD. He refuses to talk to a therapist and refuses to go into any sort of rehab. He moved out to his family's lake house in Tahoe. His family has compromised by moving a physical therapist out there with him.
